WHO IS MARISA BURMASTER?
Marisa is a dreamer, a faithful wife, mother & witness, a worshipper, and a friend of Jesus.  She has a particular grace on her life for helping people and organizations work effectively together to achieve big goals and solve complex problems.

Marisa is a registered nurse, six sigma blackbelt, and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business.

Marisa's passion and expertise in change management, strategic systems development, and process improvement has helped countless people and organizations achieve their strategic goals.

EARLY LIFE

Marisa Burmaster has been a dreamer since she visited Disney World at the age of 10.  It was there she learned that Walt Disney did not even get to see his vision for Disneyland come to life before he passed away.  There was something about this moment that encouraged her to chase her dreams no matter how big or how unlikely they could be accomplished in one lifetime.

Marisa was a cheerleader in high school which she believes was a prophetic sign of the gift that she has carried into adulthood for encouraging the people around her.

Marisa became a teen mother at the age of 16.  This difficult experience helped to shape and mold her into the strong, determined, and God-fearing woman that she is today.   Marisa attended nursing school directly out of high school and was certified as a registered professional nurse in 2005.

Being a caregiver taught Marisa valuable lessons about the impact that extending love, grace, kindness, and patience to everyone you meet can have on the world.

CAREER

Marisa served as a bedside registered professional nurse from 2005 to 2012.  She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing and gained diverse healthcare experience including medical-surgical, psychiatry, MICU, SICU, peripheral vascular surgery, cardiovascular intensive care, open heart recovery, and flight nursing.

Through this experience Marisa noticed the same thing over and over - that there were many opportunities for the healthcare system as a whole to improve, but she didn't feel as if she had any authority to help change things.  In order to earn her right to an opinion on how to improve care delivery, Marisa decided to attend business school.

Marisa graduated from The Ohio State University in 2015 with a Master of Business Administration and a Black Belt in Six Sigma.  She did several independent studies while in school in order to apply what she was learning in the healthcare environment.

Upon graduation she was hired as the Quality Enhancement Program Director for an air medical transport company. In this role she was a champion for quality and helped to spread a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Over the years this role continued to expand with her growing organization.  She became an expert at change management, strategic systems and process improvement.

In 2020 Marisa was promoted to the role of National Director of Quality Assurance.  With 36,000 employees and 8 independent operators, her employer is the largest air and ground medical transport provider in the United States.

In this role Marisa is responsible for the oversight, facilitation and strategic direction of the safety team's quality assurance and quality improvement efforts. Her focus areas include creating alignment in the safety processes and procedures across the 8-company umbrella, developing an environment of continual improvement, serving as a champion for quality, and facilitating enterprise-wide change management initiatives.  Marisa is also the Driver Safety Program Administrator who is responsible for the oversight, strategic direction, and continuous improvement of this program. The goal of this program is to monitor and address driving behaviors across our 7000+ emergency response vehicle fleet in order to effectively manage and mitigate risk.

CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS

Marisa is very active in the ministry community.  Her passion for helping people work effectively together to achieve God sized dreams lead her in 2017 to found the 501c3 Nonprofit organization, Greater Good Ambassadors.  GGA's mission is to help people and organizations work more effectively together to achieve collective goals.

Marisa and her team at GGA have been able to resource and equip numerous charitable organizations with the tools and support they needed to take their vision from idea to execution.

Marisa and her husband are active members of Heart City Church where they also serve on the advisory board and lead the prayer ministry team.

Marisa is also the Co-Founder of Sisterhood, a teen girls small group model which equips young ladies to walk in their identity in Christ.
